Boards & Societies
Dr. Bruce, Dr. Eubanks, Dr. Ali, Dr. Doubleday, Dr. Katz, and Dr. Singletary are certified by the American Board of Dermatology. The mission of the ABD is to serve the public interest by promoting excellence in the practice of dermatology through lifelong certification. It is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology. The objective of all of its activities is to provide assurance that a diplomate of the Board possesses and maintains the knowledge and skills essential for the provision of superior, specialized care to patients with cutaneous diseases.
Dr. Eubanks is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). For more than 70 years, Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine has stood for the highest standard in internal medicine and its 19 subspecialties and has meant that internists have demonstrated – to their peers and to the public – that they have the clinical judgment, skills and attitudes essential for the delivery of excellent patient care. ABIM is not a membership society, but a non-profit, independent evaluation organization.
Dr. Bruce, Dr. Eubanks, Dr. Ali, Dr. Doubleday, Dr. Katz, and Dr. Singletary are fellows of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). The AAD is the largest national professional society for the specialty of dermatology. With a membership of over 16,000, it represents virtually all practicing dermatologists in the United States. The Academy is committed to excellence in patient care, medical and public education, research, professionalism and member service and support. Its purposes are to educate dermatologists and the public, and to represent the specialty on issues concerning other professional organizations, the public, industry, and the government. Membership in the AAD includes board certified dermatologists, other dermatologists, and other physicians and health care providers from all over the world who have an interest in the field of dermatology.
Dr. Eubanks is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). Founded in 1970, the ASDS and its nearly 4,700 members are at the forefront of the development of safe, in-office procedures that are saving lives by diagnosing and treating potentially deadly skin cancers earlier and more effectively.
Dr. Eubanks is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA). The AMA helps doctors help patients by uniting physicians nationwide to work on the most important professional and public health issues. Its members, delegates, trustees, council members, section members, medical societies and countless other physicians, medical students and staff all play an integral role in the success of the organization.
Dr. Bruce and Dr. Eubanks are members of the Texas Medical Association (TMA). The TMA was established in 1853 by 35 physicians to serve the people of Texas in matters of medical care, prevention and cure of disease, and the improvement of public health. Today, with more than 43,000 physician and medical student members, TMA's vision is still to "improve the health of all Texans." TMA supports Texas physicians by providing distinctive solutions to the challenges they encounter in the care of patients.
Dr. Bruce and Dr. Doubleday are members of the Texas Dermatological Society (TDS). The TDS is a professional organization for Texas dermatologists that promotes and advances the science and art of medicine pertaining to diseases of the skin. This Society has both scientific and educational goals: to promote and advance the science and art of medicine appertaining to diseases of the skin; to promote the highest possible standards in clinical practice, education, and research in dermatological medicine and surgery; to encourage the study of social and economic problems particular to the field of dermatology; and to exercise all powers and assume all obligations necessary or incident thereto.
