We have recently added another treatment option for tightening skin on the face and neck with no downtime. We utilize a device called ReFirme™ that utilizes two forms of energy, infrared and bi-polar radiofrequency, to gently heat the skin. The heating of the skin causes collagen to contract which tightens the skin. It also stimulates the production of new collagen, which produces a firming effect and a reduction in fine wrinkles over time.
Our patients see gradual and cumulative improvement throughout a series of treatments. We usually perform three to five sessions at three-week intervals. Improvement will continue after your treatment as new collagen forms. You’ll see its lifting effect and feel your skin becoming firmer and smoother.
The majority of our patients tolerate the procedure well without topical anesthetics. The heating technology known as elôs has an advanced patient comfort system that monitors your skin and keeps it at a soothing temperature during the procedure. The treatment is non-ablative, which means that the surface layer of the skin is left in tact. That means there is no downtime. You can resume your normal activities following your appointment. Short-term side effects can occur, including reddening, mild blistering or scabbing, temporary bruising and temporary discoloration of the skin. There is the possibility of rare side effects, such as scarring and permanent discoloration.
