SUN SAFETY TIPS

1.

Minimize sun exposure between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the sun's rays are strongest.

2.

Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF 15 or greater about twenty minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after swimming and after two hours when outdoors, even on cloudy days.

3.

Wear a four-inch-wide broad-brimmed hat and sunglasses, even when walking short distances.

4.

Wear tightly woven, protective clothing, such as a long-sleeved shirt and pants.

5.

Avoid reflecting surfaces that can reflect up to 85% of the sun's damaging rays.

6.

Stay in the shade.

7.

Do not deliberately tan with indoor (tanning beds) or outside light.
