Medical Aesthetician

SBA is currently seeking a medical aesthetician to join our team of innovating and cutting edge providers. The ideal candidate will hail from a professional medical dermatology environment with experience in skin rejuvenation, anti-aging, body contouring, light therapies and lasers.

Must be energetic, passionate and in touch with what our patients are looking for, the newest procedures in the industry, and understands the importance of staying educated on competitive techniques in cosmetics and skin care.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assess patient skin condition and/or body sculpting needs and determine appropriate treatments;
  • Help manage patients at-home skincare by providing guidance and marketing products to suite each patients unique needs.
  • Perform the following spa treatments according to SBA protocol:
    • Chemical Peels: Illuminize Peel, Gel Peel GL, Advanced Corrective Peel, Vitalize Peel, MDRejuvena Resurfacing Treatments
    • Facials: Rejuvenating facial, Omnilux Facial, Relaxing Facial, Acne Facial Face
    • Body-Contouring: Coolsculpting+ ZWave, Velashape, Ultrashape
    • Light Therapies & Lasers: Clear+Brillant, Permea, Micropen and Laser Hair Removal
    • Waxing/Tinting Services: Waxing, Tinting, Brow Shaping, Brow Tweeze
    • Other Spa Services: Dermaplaning, Extractions, Acne Injection, Vibradermabrasion, Microdermabrasion
  • Accurately document in electronic charts and updates patient profiles electronically;
  • Help host at events, lunch and learns and open houses, both on site and off site, as needed
  • Following up with patients from special events;
  • Maintain spa appearance and cleanliness, which includes stocking all treatments rooms and other housekeeping duties;
  • Actively participate in SBA’s product/service offerings by:
    • evaluating new products and/or services
    • creating documents to handout to patients or tracking patients progress
  • Be a contributing member at meetings.

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:

  • Texas Medical esthetician license required
  • Nextech and/or EMR software experience is desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a pleasant and professional manner with patients, coworkers, and supervisor
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with client consultations and and skincare sales with an excellent closing ratio
  • High level of professionalism and care in personal presentation

Front Office Personnel

We are looking for a “people person” to join our front office team and work side by side with our fun, dynamic, and energetic team members to deliver exceptional customer service to continue the company tradition of providing top-ranked patient care and support.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provides excellent customer service to our medical, cosmetic, and spa patients during check-in and check-out
  • Ensures delivery of excellent customer service through fast and accurate processing of requests, communications, and scheduling of patients
  • Uses exemplary telephone skills to present an image of quality where the patient is treated in a consistent, courteous, and efficient manner
  • Collects all relevant information related to the scheduling of the appointment and enters information into Nextech
  • Ensures that all information relevant to the patient and his or her appointment is accurately communicated
  • Attends to all other customer questions, complaints, and concerns immediately and facilitates outstanding resolutions
  • Obtains updated medical history and other necessary outstanding paperwork from established patients
  • Communicates account information to patients regarding balances or credits on their accounts; processes all payments due after services are rendered
  • Calls patients to confirm appointments one day prior to the appointment date

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years medical experience required, with dermatology experience strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
  • Call center and insurance verification experience a plus

Medical Assistant

As a medical assistant at Suzanne Bruce and Associates, you will get to work alongside some of the top-ranked dermatologists in the city and leaders in the industry.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Works collaboratively with our medical providers and reporting supervisor on both medical and cosmetic sectors to deliver optimal patient care
  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment, which includes: taking patients’ vital signs, preparing exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, administering injections, documenting a brief medical history, checking patients’ charts for pertinent data (i.e. lab results, complete medical histories, medications, and allergy information) and communicating information to physician
  • Assists physicians with exams and minor procedures when requested
  • Takes patients’ before-and-after photographs when needed
  • Responsible for accurately documenting information onto the progress note as directed by the physician for particular visits
  • Provides postoperative care instructions, drug samples, and written prescriptions as directed by the physicians
  • Calls in prescriptions and prepares patient charts for billing
  • Inspects rooms for cleanliness after each visit; cleans rooms prior to rooming the next patient
  • Returns patient calls daily in regards to prescriptions and questions; consults with physician when appropriate

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:

  • MA certification from an accredited program is required
  • Minimum 1 year clinic experience, with 6 months of dermatology experience required
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
  • Nextech and/or EMR software experience is desired
  • CPR certification required
  • Self-directed and able to work independently

Director of Clinical Research

We are looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial manager to lead our clinical research division that is positioned to rapidly grow in all three current areas of skin-based research both in our Galleria-area and Katy locations.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
Main responsibilities include P&L, management of research staff (14), planning and managing annual operating budget and division strategic planning, maintaining and building working relationships with study sponsors and clinical research organizations, and directing contract and budget negotiations. (S)he will work directly with the Director of Business Development, Malcolm Waddell, MBA, and Dr. Bruce, a foremost thought leader, who as a faculty member directed the research operations of Baylor College of Medicine’s Dermatology Department for 12 years prior to founding her own practice and its research division, now in its 16th year.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:
The successful candidate should be team-oriented and have good leadership and managerial skills as well as strong interpersonal, negotiating and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies inside and outside the company. Exceptional organizational skills are also a must. Knowledge of or prior experience with the principles and procedures of clinical research is a plus.

BA or BS in science-related major, MBA with entrepreneurial emphasis a plus

 


 

Customer Service Representative

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Ensures that all information relevant to the patient and their appointment is accurately communicated

  • Maintains and coordinates schedule for physician and other clinical practitioners
  • Helps ensures that calls are answered in a timely manner
  • Effectively communicates and coordinates changes with internal staff, doctors and departments as needed
  • Follows up on customer interactions and missing documentation as needed

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year medical experience and/or call center experience required, dermatology experience is strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
  • Insurance verification experience is a plus
