HOW IS CHEEK AUGMENTATION PERFORMED?
Before your procedure, Dr. Couvillion will complete a thorough exam to create a customized treatment plan that is best for your unique facial structure. In your consultation, you can decide on the amount of correction desired.
Injectable dermal fillers will be performed at our Houston, TX office as an outpatient treatment in about 20 – 30 minutes. With fillers, the injection sites will be cleaned and marked along the mid-face. Next, the dermal filler will be gently injected into the cheeks and massaged to fill the needed areas. You can leave immediately after the treatment and get back to your normal, non-strenuous activities.
WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM CHEEK AUGMENTATION?
With dermal fillers, your face can be tender with mild inflammation for around 3 – 5 days. Ice packs and nonprescription pain medication may be used to ease any discomfort. Some results are usually visible immediately, but the final result takes 1 – 2 weeks. Follow-up treatments will be needed as dermal fillers are short-term treatments and last from 1 - 2 years, depending on the patient. It is recommended that no strenuous activity be performed for about 48 hours after the placement of the filler.

How much does cheek augmentation cost?

What type of dermal fillers do you use for injections?
When selecting synthetic dermal fillers for your cheeks, Dr. Couvillion does have a preference. For many years, we have had reliable, consistent results from the Juvéderm product line of dermal fillers, particularly Voluma, for the cheeks. As a formulation of hyaluronic acid, Voluma can enhance the cheeks by filling in sunken, hollow areas beneath the surface of your skin. This is a temporary solution for volume loss or for the appearance of having higher cheekbones.
What if I have an asymmetrical face?
Everyone has an asymmetric face! As Dr. Couvillion always tells patients, "If you have 2 of something, they are different." It is natural to think that not having a mirror-like reflection of both sides of your face is an abnormality. Can I have a fat grafting performed to fill in my cheeks?
Yes. In fact, Dr. Couvillion uses fat grafting techniques for the restoration of volume in the soft tissues of the face and around the orbits. Using your own fat can create a more youthful shape to your face and may even feel more natural to the touch than a temporary dermal filler.
